For those looking for a great volunteer opportunity, as well as a chance to get out and see the Bacon Ridge Natural Area before it's open to the public, SRLT and the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks invite you to Save a Plot, Sunday June 27th, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Invasive non-native wisteria plants are threatening the native forest ecosystem. Wisteria plants climb into the forest canopy, shading out native plants. Some vines grow so thick they actually pull trees down!
We need volunteers to pull invasive plants along the edges of the infestation to help preserve the surrounding forest.
Volunteers will need to hike about 2 miles, please bring sturdy shoes and a water bottle.
