Title:
Rain Garden Planting at Historic Londontown
When:
May 09, 2009
Where:
Historic London Town and Gardens - Edgewater

Description

Come join the Federation and volunteers from around the community in planting rain gardens at the beautiful Historic London Town & Gardens in Edgewater.

We will plant about 800 to 1000 native plants, so will need as many helping hands as possible. Historic London Town and Gardens received a grant from Chesapeake Bay Trust for a Stormwater Management and Drainage Retrofit project in their Woodland Garden. The project was managed by Mel Wilkins, the design by Low Impact Design Studio (Anne Guillette) and constructed (installed) by Eden Contracting, Inc. A grant from Anne Arundel County was awarded to acquire the plants. The Federation has been involved from the inception of the project and helped support London Town in the application process to CBT.

Refreshments, gloves and tools will be provided.

Volunteers meet at the Visitor Center at 10 a.m. and will then be directed to the project area (immediately behind the Visitor Center).
