Project Stream Clean - April 5, 2008

Thank you to all of you who volunteered for Project Clean Stream!

More than 50 hearty South River Federation volunteers turned out to help clear two sites in our watershed of debris, helping to keep toxins and garbage out of South River.

 

Here are the 2008 locations for South River watershed:

Site #1- Hawkins Road, just west of I 97.

Site #2- Church Creek -Rt 665 Nbound at Rt2

Here is a map of the site.


16 hearty South River Federation volunteers removed close to 500 tires, 30 tire rims, and about one ton of assorted car parts. All of the debris removed had been dumped by Steadman Tires, a local tire dealer that used to be located at the current location of the Annapolis Maritime Car Wash.

Project Stream Clean is sponsored by the Chesapeake Bay Trust. In 2007, over 2,500 volunteers turned out at more than 100 clean-up sites throughout the Chesapeake Bay Watershed! (see Federation pics from last year)
