Enterococci Probable Colonies/100ml
The South RIVERKEEPER® collects water samples from local swimming beaches each week from May through September and sends them to be analyzed for bacteria levels by Sally Horner at AACC. EPA states that bacteria levels higher than 104 probable colonies per milliliter of water is unsafe for swimming. In addition the Health Department recommends staying out of the water for 48 hours after a heavy rains. Here are this week’s results.
