Direct Water Contact Advisory for All County Rivers and Creeks Due to Heavy Rainfall,
Public Health Advisory for Bear Neck Creek in Mayo Due to Wastewater Overflow

May 12, 2008 - The Anne Arundel County Department of Health advises against swimming, water skiing and other direct water contact in all County rivers, creeks and other natural bodies of water due to heavy rainfall and flooding. After heavy rainfall, wait at least 48 hours or until the water clears before swimming.

Wastewater Overflow Advisory - The Department of Health has also issued a public health advisory for direct water contact for Bear Neck Creek in Mayo due to a May 12 wastewater overflow from the Mayo Wastewater Treatment Plant. The overflow was caused by heavy rainfall and flooding.
