Our biggest fundraiser of the year was a great success thanks to the donors, bidders, sponsors, contributors, volunteers and the Host Committee (and Cindy Wallace for her hard work behind the scenes!).
Net total: $41,000!
Thank you, everyone, for your support so that, together, we may continue our work for South River.
Lee Ann Candon and Kevin Green were presented with "Federation Volunteer of the Year" awards. Lee Ann maintains the Federation website and produces the newsletters (though graphic design is donated by Marlene Simincini) and helps with major events.
Kevin has been an incredible asset to the Federation by coming out for nearly every restoration work party and helping out with major events. He can always be counted on to stay until the job is done.
THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS OF THE YEAR!

Host Mary Tod Winchester talks with Parker Jones of Capital Bikes and
Riverkeeper Drew Koslow. Parker donated 2 specialized hybrid bikes.

Federation president Kincey Potter talks with Councilman Ed Reilly and Rick Hughes while volunteer Amanda Renfro and others dine on smoked fish and delectables from Tapenade.

Straight Steel and Wire provided entertainment for our event. They have become somewhat of a "signature" band for the Federation, since they have been donating their incredible talent for our Auction and our Fish Fry for the past 3 years! Since they all have day jobs, we can't tell you where else to go hear them, so stay tuned for the next Federation event and enjoy the music!

Bruce Holly, John Orme and Lorraine Orme shuck the oysters John tonged straight out of South River to donate to the event. Wouldn't be "South River on the Halfshell" without the oysters!

"Merganser" sponsor Keely Clifford holds the winning ticket for the Valentine's Day Basket Raffle! The basket held all manner of gifts from Starbucks in Edgewater, Lords and Ladies in Edgewater, Hudson & Foquet in Annapolis, Edgewater Restaurant in Edgewater, Reiki session from A Gentle Cure in Crofton, to name a few! Congratulations, Keely!

The crowd watches as the live auction gets underway with Fred Reger and Ron Leftwich, Benefit Auction Specialitsts, as the auctioneers.

Federation Treasurer Kathleen Leidy, Vice President Chris Trumbauer, and President Kincey Potter pause for a moment from working the auction and enjoying the party.

Dorothy Fitzgerald was the winning bidder for artist Tim Bell's "Chesapeake Skipjacks", an original oil-on-linen.
